Cobol is a computer programming language which was commonly used in big database applications, but now is far less used.

You can download a Cobol compiler by Fujitsu, near 9 MB in size, free for student's use, in www.adtools.com/products/downloadCOBV3.htm.

There is a project to create an open-source Cobol compiler, named Tiny Cobol. More info in tiny-cobol.sourceforge.net/.
